Ihe SR 500 is a battery-powered fan unit that, when used with a compatible filter and a “human interface” (hood, face shield, full/half mask), forms a complete respiratory protection system.
It is designed to serve as an alternative to traditional filter respirators (i.e. negative-pressure respirators) in environments where they are recommended—especially in tougher, warmer, or longer-duration work settings.
Because the system maintains a slight positive pressure in the breathing zone (air is forced into the mask/hood), it helps reduce inward leakage of contaminants.
